Chuncheon

On the way to Chuncheon’s Dakgalbi street.

Marja at Myeongdong Number One.

Simply put, Chuncheon is known for its chicken. The lake and river-filled region, fondly nicknamed the ‘Lake Country,’  is dotted with poultry farms, and unsurprisingly, its local dish is dakgalbi, a dish of spicy stir-fried chicken with vegetables. There’s an entire street with more than 20 restaurants which pays homage to the spicy meal. Marja sampled the wares at some of the city’s choicest establishments.
